The NSW economy is larger than many national economies in the Asia Pacific including Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, and 83% of the State's industry income is derived from services.

Home to 6.8 million people, NSW has 33% of Australia's population, making it Australia's biggest market. Its workforce of 3.3 million is the largest of any Australian State.

The capital of NSW, Sydney, is the business hub of Australia and a leading financial centre in the Asia Pacific. It accounts for almost one quarter of Australia's total annual output of goods and services.
