Events New South Wales has been established by the NSW Government to market Sydney and NSW as a leading global events destination through the implementation of creative and innovative strategies that will revamp and revitalise event and tourism opportunities across the State.
The company will identify, attract and nurture events that are expected to provide significant economic or community benefits to both Sydney and regional NSW, including sporting, cultural and lifestyle events.
The mandate of Events New South Wales includes:
- a revised focus on business events in conjunction with the Sydney and Convention and Visitors Bureau
- returning Sydney to a preferred destination for national and international conferences
- regaining a stronger foothold into Asia
- development of a consistent master calendar
- working cooperatively with the Government, the private sector and other key stakeholders.
The Events New South Wales board is:

- Johanna Griggs – Seven Network and Commonwealth Games medallist
