NSW Sustainability Round Table - Jonathan Greenblatt
Tuesday, 20 April 2010
Industry and Investment NSW & the United States Studies Centre hosted a CEO round table featuring Jonathan Greenblatt from the US, an acknowledged thought leader on ethical branding, global development and social entrepreneurship.
Jonathan presented a compelling argument about the emergence of a new wave of ‘ethical brands’ that generate financial return and social good. Challenging conventional wisdom about the role of business in society and rethinking the concept of responsible corporate behaviour.
Jonathan is a former vice president of Starbucks Coffee Company and en ex-member of the board of directors of the Starbucks Foundation. He currently serves as a member of the faculty at the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA where he teaches social entrepreneurship.
Jonathan is the co-founder of Ethos Water, which is currently projected to invest more than $10 million through 2010 to bring clean water to communities in need throughout Africa, Asia and Latin America, helping almost 400,000 people across the world get clean water.
This was a fifth in the series of Roundtables Industry and Investment NSW has hosted featuring international speakers such as Jonathan. The Roundtables are a way to share Best Practice and ensure NSW companies are across key international developments in Sustainability. We have recorded the event to share the insights and key learnings with the NSW business community.
