G'Day USA

NSW has taken its strengths and capabilities to the USA to win business and investment for the State.

G'Day USA: Australia Week is the annual showcase of Aussie know-how in the US market. It's a unique opportunity to raise the profile of Sydney and NSW in the world's largest market.

NSW had a major role in G'Day USA, promoting the State's strengths in several sectors:

  • Fashion
  • Food
  • Environmental technologies
  • Financial services
  • Science and research
  • Water management technologies.

About 50 NSW companies and organisations took part in G'Day USA, the largest contingent of NSW companies to be involved in this annual promotion.

Clean tech focus

A key event for NSW this year was the Innovation Showcase: FastPitch held in California. Seven NSW clean technology companies pitched their products and services to an audience of potential investors and business partners.

Sydney company Bio-Gill Environmental won the showcase with its new technology for the treatment of wastewater. John West, Managing Director of Bio-Gill Environmental recently spoke about the company's technology and their opportunity in the US to Clean Tech TV.

The US market

NSW has participated in the annual G'day USA promotion program since it started in 2004.

The US is a priority market for NSW − it's the leading source of foreign direct investment in Australia and NSW's third largest trading partner.
