- Business tourism is the highest yielding and one of the fastest growing sectors of the Australian tourism industry

- at least 93 events between 2007 and 2014, worth more than A$779 million, have been secured for Sydney and regional NSW by the Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau
- Sydney ranked sixth in the Asia Pacific for the number of international meetings held in 2005.
Sydney's status as a global city, together with its beautiful location, friendly hospitality, impressive range of venues and appealing lifestyle, makes it an ideal convention city.
Sydney has consistently ranked highly in the Asia Pacific as a convention location, and globally as a 'must visit' location.
In 2004, 27% of all Australian business events took place in NSW, and they attracted 40% of all conference/convention delegates for the year.
