Community Economic Development
The Department assists community/regional development organisations undertake planning activities and implement projects which have broad based local support and the potential to generate economic benefits. The Regional Industries Investment Fund (RIIF) has been established to drive economic growth in regional NSW as well as enhancing the attractiveness of regional areas.
Applications for assistance can be submitted by local councils, incorporated associations including business, industry and community organisations and regional development organisations including Regional Development Australia committees.
The Department also provides funding assistance to support the operations of local and regional bodies, including Business Advisory Services and Regional Development Australia committees as well as other regional development organisations for projects that advance economic development.
