Information and communications technology

ICT companies choose New South Wales (NSW) because of its strong economic environment and its research and development capabilities. ICT investors also identify Sydney’s strong upstream demand— Sydney represents 25% of Australia’s economy.

Examples of ICT companies we have assisted

The Department has worked with many domestic and international companies such as IBM, Accenture, Fuji Xerox, Polaris Software and Wipro.

Case study: Polaris Software

A leading Indian software company has chosen the Sydney suburb of Parramatta for its new software testing laboratory.

Polaris Software’s Centre of Excellence for software testing and validation is expected to create 160 jobs and bring investment of almost $5 million.

The Centre will conduct software testing and validation for Australian financial service providers, which will benefit NSW and international companies to achieve standards of global excellence.

The NSW Government worked with Polaris Software to help it establish the lab which will expand the company’s existing operations in Sydney.

CEO and Chairman of Polaris Software Lab Arun Jain said Sydney had a long and rich history in banking and financial services.

“Sydney will be the most suitable location to support the complex requirements of leading banks in South East Asia and Australia and New Zealand,” Mr Jain Said.
