RSSGrowth in Sydney’s Asia focus
29/11/2012Sydney's profile as a hub for professional services in Asia took a step forward this week with the launch of a new Asia Business Group at the Sydney office of global accounting services group Crowe Horwath.
NSW Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner said at the launch: "The NSW Government is committed to enhancing the State's international engagement in our key trade and investment markets, and the new Asia Business Group will add further strength to the reputation of our professional services sector in the region and beyond.
"Sydney is firmly positioned to take advantage of the opportunities emerging in Asia given the region is home to many of our key trade and investment partners. Asia is both a huge market and a major source of capital and talent across a wide range of sectors.
"This is a smart and well timed move by Crowe Horwath, particularly given the recent release of the Federal Government's Australia in the Asian Century white paper.
Chief Executive at Crowe Horwath Sydney Andrew Macpherson said "Australian growth and prosperity is closely linked to what is happening in Asia. We are seeing more and more clients approach our offices in Australia and Asia seeking help to facilitate cross-border business.
"For our clients, deep understanding of local cultures and business practices is fundamental to their success in Asia and, through our new Asia Business Group, we can provide local advice in more than 150 cities and 105 countries, including China, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and the ASEAN region."
