Over the last 10 years exporting has been a key theme of Small Business September. The same is true in 2009, with more than 20 targeted export events at locations in Sydney and regional New South Wales. Each event is an opportunity to take the next big business step, especially for business people thinking of exporting, getting started in export or growing an export market.
Highlights include events focus on key and emerging markets. On 9 September there is a seminar examining Australia and Japan: Partnering in Asia (Sydney). On 16 September our experts look at investing in the UK (Sydney). On 21 September we provide advice on navigating business success in China and India (Sydney).
Another major export event of Small Business September is the Import Export Show on the Road which is held in Sydney and Parramatta on 7 and 16 September.
Export skills development workshops are also on the calendar for Small Business September 2009. On 15 September we examine the risks associated with international trade and finance, (Newcastle), and then on 18 September our experts show how to overcome financial barriers to export success (Sydney).
Regional business operators should pencil in September 17, 22 and 24 for an e-business workshop especially for exporters in Tamworth, Nambucca Heads and Merimbula. And on 30 September we’ll be hosting an international supply chain solutions forum in Sydney. For further details, including a copy of the export events calendar, phone Raji Bhatia at Industry & Investment NSW, 9338 6958, or visit: www.smallbusinessmonth.nsw.gov.au and choose the Export and Trade theme to view the list of events.
