A Sydney company which has developed world leading software to assist corporate investigations has won a prestigious NSW Government technology export award.
Nuix Pty Ltd, of Ultimo, has won the 2009 Australian Technology Showcase (ATS) Patrons Award ahead of five other finalists.
The annual award, celebrating its 10th year in 2009, rewards outstanding export achievements by member’s of the Government Australian Technology Showcase (ATS) program.
“Congratulations to Nuix for achieving outstanding export results despite very difficult global conditions,” Minister for State Development Ian Macdonald said.
“In the first six months of 2009, 83 per cent of Nuix’s sales were achieved overseas and the company recorded its best two business quarters to date.
“These results, achieved against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, demonstrate the value and appeal of Nuix software to international clients."
Nuix’s electronic discovery and investigation software is now used by organisations including governments, regulators, law enforcement agencies, corporations, advisory and litigation support firms.
The powerful tool efficiently searches and analyses large amounts of electronically stored information - even deleted material - to effectively detect fraud and other online criminal behaviour.
For example, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission used Nuix software to investigate and prosecute former Morgan Stanley managing director Du Jun who was sentenced to seven years prison last month for insider trading.
Nuix’s customers now include over 30 law enforcement agencies from around the world.
As the winner of the 2009 ATS Patrons Award, Nuix will receive over $50,000 worth of prizes to assist its further export development from ATS Patron companies Buchan, Invetech, Neo Technology Ventures, Pacific Capital Corporation, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Spruson&Ferguson.
