Sydney's creative fashion industry enlivened the city centre from August 17 to 21 during the Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival.
A specially-created festival "tent" was erected in Martin Place in the CBD to showcase the latest Spring Summer fashion collections over five days of free and ticketed public events.
The NSW Government is supporting Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival over a three year period. The festival is organised by IMG Fashion.
Minister for State Development Ian Macdonald said: "Fashion is a key component of our creative industries sector which the NSW Government is targeting for growth, and Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival is a major event on the Australian fashion industry calendar.
"Importantly, as well as showcasing fashion the festival will be targeted at consumers who will be encouraged to watch fashion shows and then purchase what they see and like on the cat-walk at Sydney retail stores.
"This will help stimulate the Sydney retail sector and generate new season sales for our fashion industry."
Daniel Hill, the General Manager of IMG Fashion Australia which staged Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival, said: "We are delighted to have the support of the NSW Government in producing this event for the people of Sydney and its visitors.
"The event has grown substantially since its inception last year and we look forward to continuing to build on this strength in partnership with the NSW Government."
The NSW textile, clothing, footwear and leather (TCFL) manufacturing industry generates sales and services income of more than $3 billion each year - more than 30 per cent of the Australian total - and comprises about 2,000 enterprises.
