NSW Cyber Ambassador Program
About the NSW Cyber Ambassador Program
The NSW Cyber Ambassadors Program aims to address the shortage of talent in the cyber security sector by encouraging more young people to join this fast-evolving, exciting industry. NSW Cyber Ambassadors are volunteers from the Cyber Security community who visit schools to encourage and inspire school students to enter a career in cyber security as well as educate teachers and the broader school community about the workforce opportunities now and in the future.
Cyber Security is a rapidly growing segment in the economy and is increasingly a crucial capability across almost every industry. Currently, there is a shortage of cyber security workers in Australia and the world, with this gap expected to grow.
Growing a strong and skilled cyber workforce is key to growing the cyber security sector. Enhancing workforce and skills development is a key pillar of the 2021 NSW Cyber Security Strategy.
Under the program, Investment NSW’s Cyber Hub and Training Services NSW’s Regional Industry Education Partnerships team, coordinates Ambassadors’ visits and engagement with NSW schools and the broader school community.
