Six leading bio firms showcased NSW’s health and biotech capabilities at BIO KOREA 2020.
NSW Treasury’s co-sponsorship of the Virtual Australian Pavilion at the e-conference enabled an active participation from Novotech, George Clinical, Regeneus, Scientia, Southern Star Research and TRICEP.
All six firms participated in online business matching sessions which generated new commercial leads in both markets. Novotech and Southern Star Research were among select presenters at the Australia Contract Research Organisation session, highlighting the advantages of conducting clinical trials in NSW.
This showcase is part of a strong program of health and biotech engagement between NSW and Korea. Major Korean bio and pharma powerhouses such as CKD Bio and Celltrion were recently attracted to set up shop in Sydney. In October 2019, NSW showcased the state’s leading medical research facilities to a business delegation led by Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI).
This year’s BIO KOREA was delivered as an e-conference and online exhibition due to current travel restrictions amid COVID-19.
