Huntsman Security

Huntsman Security® provides defence grade cyber security technology, specialising in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR).

By developing state of the art SIEM detection and SOAR decision tools, Huntsman Security helps organisations minimise attacks and enables the recovery of data and system availability in the shortest possible turnaround time.

In 2005, the NSW Company started to deploy its patented machine learning capabilities within SIEM. In 2016, it created the Next Gen SIEM SOAR that helps organisations manage the overwhelming volume of threats that security teams need to validate. Through automation of the manual threat verification process, it reduces the time from threat detection to response from an average of 69 days to minutes and seconds. In 2019 it released a novel cyber metrics visualisation tool that permits an organisation to measure the effectiveness of its cyber resilience based on the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC)’s Essential 8 security framework. Recently, it has released an audit tool that allows an organisation to assess its cyber performance against the ACSC’s Information Security Manual (ISM) guidelines.

Huntsman has globally recognised capability that has been developed in NSW.  Its products have attained international recognition, often cited and evaluated in reports such as Forrester Wave™: Security Analytics Platforms Q3 2018 Report. Its Essential 8 Scorecard was recently listed as a finalist in the UK’s Cyber Security Awards Best Innovative Security Product of the Year.

The Huntsman Security Vision

Huntsman Security aspires to always be at the vanguard of best practice in cyber response and being based in NSW supports this aspiration.  It believes that managing cyber security is managing a major business risk in the modern digitally connected business world. The keys to cyber resilience depend on having a clear understanding of the threats together with an objective assessment of the associated risks, which enable sound decisions in deploying relevant solutions in the right target areas.

To support this vision, Huntsman Security is actively contributing to education and raising awareness of cyber issues. In the resources section of its web site, it publishes reference guides about the latest cyber compliance regulations, produces short education videos and recorded webinars, white papers, infographics and built its Cyber Security Academy blog  - a platform where security practitioners, Chief Information Security Officers (CISO), senior executives, academia, students and general public can access and exchange learning.  The value of this is demonstrated by the increase uptake and participation by cyber security professionals with visitation tripled over the past 18 months.

Huntsman Security demonstrates leading edge global capability that has been developed in NSW as a result of strong growth opportunities, leading industry skills and expertise and a collaborative environment.
