Training Services NSW is responsible for government-funded Vocational Education and Training (VET) in NSW. VET is skilled-based education and training and provides people with the workplace skills and technical knowledge they need to meet current and future employment demands.

Training Services NSW also manage the implementation of funded programs, including Smart and Skilled, Apprenticeships and Traineeships, and Adult and Community Education.

Smart and Skilled supports the skills development of the NSW workforce to meet the state’s future demand for jobs. The program provides government-subsidised courses to ensure there is a supply of skilled workers.

Apprenticeships and traineeships combine work-based training with an employer and formal training from a training provider. They are established under training contracts between the employer and the apprentice or trainee and are a great way to be paid for work, while earning a qualification.

In addition to this, the Adult and Community Education (ACE) program provides a range of education opportunities to the adult population of NSW. ACE Providers offer a wide range of general interest courses as well as national accredited courses that can help upskill, or even reskill employees.
