Minerals exploration is an integral aspect of the resources sector, enabling it to be a major contributor to the New South Wales (NSW) economy and to provide the materials for the world's industrial and manufacturing growth and consumer demand.

The NSW Government places great importance on encouraging mineral exploration in NSW and facilitating the progress of exploration projects through to production status.
