Workforce and Skills Development Program:

NSW Cyber Ambassador Program

NSW Cyber Ambassadors are volunteers from the cyber security sector who participate in workshops with students, parents, and teachers. These workshops aim to inspire and encourage school students to develop an interest in and pursue a career in cyber security.

Cyber Security is a rapidly growing segment in the economy and is increasingly a crucial capability across almost every industry. Currently, there is a shortage of cyber security workers in Australia and the world, with this gap expected to grow. This program aims to address this shortage and encourage more people to join this fast-evolving, exciting industry.

Under the 2021 NSW Cyber Security Strategy, the NSW Government has committed to launching the next iteration of the Cyber Ambassadors Program. This new Program will build on the success of the existing Program, expanding its reach and activities.

CyberCheck.Me Pilot Program

Security breaches can lead to reputational damage and a loss of time, money and private information. Free cyber security checks are available for small to medium enterprises.

Cyber Skills Study and Pathway Mapping

A state-wide cyber skills study and pathway mapping initiative will provide the NSW Government with an updated understanding on cyber skills and workforce gaps. The evidence-based insights will help to inform the design of workforce development initiatives and curriculum. Collaboration with the Federal Government will support the development of a coordinated, national pathway for cyber careers. Download the 2020 Cyber Security Skills & Jobs NSW Study here.
