Industry Action Plans

In late 2011, the NSW Government established industry-led Taskforces to develop 10-year Industry Action Plans to position key sectors of the State's economy for strong growth, resilience, improved innovation and productivity, global competitiveness, and new investment opportunities.
The Industry Action Plans provide a road map for industries in NSW over the decade to 2021, ensuring both Government and industry can best take advantage of opportunities and curb the threats to growth. Watch the launch video ->
The focus sectors for the Industry Action Plans are:
- The Digital Economy;
- International Education and Research;
- Manufacturing;
- Professional Services;
- The Visitor Economy; and
- Creative Industries.
The draft Creative Industries Industry Action Plan [PDF] was released for community consultation on 13 March 2013. Submissions closed on 2 April 2013. The finalisation of the Industry Action Plan is currently underway.
It follows the release of Industry Action Plans developed by Taskforces for the Digital Economy, International Education and Research, Manufacturing, Professional Services and the Visitor Economy.
The NSW Government's response [PDF] to the recommended actions of the Digital Economy, International Education and Research, Manufacturing and Professional Services Industry Action Plans was released in December 2012 as was the Government's response to the Visitor Economy Taskforce's final report.
The NSW Government's response to these Industry Action Plans includes the release of A Platform for Growth: The NSW Economic Development Framework.
Updates on the Industry Action Plan process will be provided through email to registered participants, online through this site, and via social media using the Twitter hashtag #iapnsw and the Facebook page www.facebook.com/NSWBusiness.
